I read an article on The Daily Press News Paper here in our home town. The article estimates the total of the damage done to San Bernardino County here in California. Since December 18, 2010 Southern California has received a lot of rain which has caused over 59 million dollars worth of damage in the county alone. The article describes well of what has been damaged through the area but, the article I read only focuses on one part of the state. Doesn't really explain with much detail; how rain was received and what parts of the county. This article seems to focus the price even though it explains it in the first paragraph then it kinda breaks it down adding up what is damaged and how much it's going to cost to repair it totaling it up to the 59 million.
Primer Impacto a Spanish news program explained in a minute how the California Governor wants President Obama to declare "disaster" in California because of all the rain damage that has been done. It explains how much millions of dollars it will take to recover from everything and that it has been the worst rain California has had in over a Century. The news cast summed everything up pretty clearly and showed clips of most affected areas in California. Those images really showed how much work people have put into keeping the water under control. People talked about losing their homes and businesses because of floods or electric damages. Even though I feel that maybe they could have added more details and made the announcement longer they got their point across.
A desert news article on line shows images of fallen trees, flipped over trucks, people walking in harsh rain and winds. Out of the three I say this one has the most detail about the rain that has affected California. They also talk about the strong winds that have also caused a lot of damage to the state. They mention the cost of everything totaled up from San Diego to San Fransisco. They not only focus on property damage but the people affected by this disaster. It informed me of people that have lost their lives during this storm. It tells us that they are taking action by starting to clean up the mess and avoid any other bigger catastrophes from occurring in any county. They also mention Governor Maldonado sending President Obama a letter to declare a disaster in California. This online article covered from buildings, roads, homes, people, and everything else affected by the rain.
